Rodolfo D. DeAsis

September 4, 1926 – Mary 26, 2020

Rodolfo D. DeAsis (Rudy), 93, passed away peacefully on May 26, 2020 at home with family at his bedside.  He was born on September 4, 1926 to Laureano and Soledad (Debuque) DeAsis in Iloilo City, Philippines.

On December 31,1967 Rudy immigrated to the United States to Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania.  In 1981, he decided to move his family to League City, Texas after a vacation there.  He worked as an engineer for Ford Aerospace in NASA.

Rudy enjoyed gardening, fishing, watching sports, and visiting different churches, especially the Catholic Charismatic Center in Houston, and attending various prayer groups.  He had a steadfast faith and would not hesitate to raise his hands up to praise the Lord, especially during Santo Nino prayers.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Lydia DeAsis and his sister Rizalina Cava.

Rudy is survived by his three children, Rodolfo (Bobby) DeAsis and his wife Josie, Marlene DeAsis, and Charity Concepcion and her husband Davey; three grandchildren, Carissa, David and Justin of Texas; his brother Ernesto DeAsis of Illinois and sister Dr. Helen DeAsis of New York.

Friends are cordially invited to the visitation with the family on Tuesday, June 2, 2020 at 9:00 A.M. with the Mass of Christian Burial to follow at 10:00 A.M. at the Mary Queen Catholic Church, 606 Cedarwood Dr., Friendswood, Texas 77546 with Rev. Sibi Kunninu, M.S. officiating.  Rudy will be laid to rest in Mount Olivet Catholic Cemetery in Dickinson, Texas.
