In Loving Memory

John Elwood Walters

November 25, 1941 – November 10, 2020

John Elwood Walters, 78, of Webster, Texas passed away on November 10, 2020 following a battle with Pulmonary Lung Fibrosis. He was surrounded by his devoted wife and three daughters when he passed away.

John was born November 25,1941 to Mary Walters in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. After graduating from high school, John served in the United States Airforce as Airman Second Class. He met the love of his life, Jane Ellen Christopher, on New Year's Eve in 1972. After a romantic whirlwind courtship, they were married on June 17, 1972 and began their 48-year adventure together.  Jane was not only his wife, but also his very best friend. He was an amazing husband to her. In 1973, the couple welcomed their first daughter, Amy Reed, followed by two more daughters in 1975, Lisa Wyatt, and 1978, Stephanie Walters. John's daughters meant the world to him. He loved all three of them unconditionally and made sure they were taken care of even as his health declined. He was a wonderful father leaving his daughters with endless fond memories of him.  His grandchildren and great grandchildren thought he was the best "Pop Pop" ever.  They will miss him tickling them and telling them silly jokes. But will cherish those moments forever.

John was well known for his amazing sense of humor. He could always make you laugh and brought a smile to everyone's face; especially when they needed it the most. He kept his sense of humor to the very end, jokingly telling the nurse at the hospital he would like a couple of beers when she asked if he needed anything.

John is preceded in death by his mother Mary Walters, his grandparents, Joseph and Miriam Walters, his great grandparents Pappy and Maggie Walters, and his great aunt Margaret Smith. He is survived by his loving wife Jane; his daughters Amy, Lisa, and Stephanie; his son-in-law Wallace; his grandchildren Jacqueline, Victoria, Elizabeth, Alexandra, Jacob, and Abigail; his great grandchildren Raimey and Killian; and his grand-dog Pedro.
