In Loving Memory

Clara Frances Evans Wooster

August 19, 1947 – September 1, 2020

Clara Frances Evans Wooster, 73, of Friendswood, Texas went from the arms of her family into the arms of Jesus on Tuesday, September 1st, 2020.  Clara was born on August 19th, 1947 in Jackson, Tennessee.  Clara and her 3 siblings were the children of Elizabeth Ferguson and John Evans, who worked as a Baptist minister.  Throughout her childhood, Clara's family followed the Lord's calling for her father's ministry and lived in Tennessee, Louisiana and eventually landed in Nocona, Texas where she graduated from high school in 1966.

In 1965, she agreed to her 'one and only' blind date with Charles Wooster.  This date would set the stage for a life-long love beginning on their wedding day of September 9th, 1967 and lasting nearly 53 years.  Their devotion to each other was a testament of true love and was an example to their family and friends.

Clara's calling in life almost always revolved around the arts.  From her early days of singing and playing organ/piano in church to her latter days of painting, floral design and wedding coordination, her life was filled with creativity, passion, and a lot of pizazz!  She led life with a giving heart and could often be found volunteering at one of her children's activities or coordinating the next family gathering with that special touch that only Clara could give…if something needed to be done, you could always count on her to step up and get it done.

Clara will be known for years to come for her style and attention to detail.  You'd never catch her out and about without a well put together outfit topped off with her signature BIG jewelry, matching shoes and the perfectly coordinated lip color!  As this sort of presentation took hours to put together, you could almost always count on Clara being late for just about any event, but we loved her just the same!

While she has physically left us, she will always be emotionally present to her husband, Charles, and her children, John Wooster and wife Rebecca of Paris, Texas, Beth Stanfield and husband Alan of Friendswood, Texas and James Wooster and wife Diane of Marana, Arizona, along with her grandchildren Shelby Jones and wife Kayla, Joshua Enriquez, Mathew and Elliana Aguilar, Angelina Wooster, Blake, Bailey and Bella Stanfield, and Michael and Jacob Wooster.

Since Clara was known for her style, the family asks that you honor her by wearing your brightest colors and biggest jewelry to the services.  Visitation will be on Friday, September 4th, at 9:00 A.M. at Jeter Memorial Funeral Home, 311 N. Friendswood Drive in Friendswood followed by a service celebrating her life at 10:00 A.M. Immediately following the service, interment will take place at Galveston Memorial Park Cemetery located at 7301 Memorial Street in Hitchcock.  Pallbearers are Blake Stanfield, Michael Wooster, Jacob Wooster, Eric Wells, Tucker Wells and Spencer Wells.

Condolences may be sent to the Wooster family in care of Jeter Memorial Funeral Home at www.jeterfuneralhome.com.

  1. She will always SPARKLE where ever She is! Ms. Clara was always the light of my afternoon. She was always happy to see me, even though I was going to stick her and try to find a place for her IV. I may be being selfish, but I would give anything to have her rolled into my infusion suite by Charles again! Ms Clara will be GREATLY missed! Mr. Charles, you are a wonderful Husband…she really Loved you!

  2. My sweetheart and my fashionista will be missed! I'm so happy that I crossed paths with her in this life. I will miss our Friday visits, our talks of fun memories, playing referee between you and Charles:), her showing me her recent outfits, jewelry and shoes she bought. I was treated like a daughter when I visited her. We brightened up each other's day. Rest in Heaven my love! Until we meet again,
    Bonnie, RN

  3. Our deepest condolences on the loss of your wife, mother and grandmother. May she Rest In Peace. Our thoughts and prayers are with you. Love you all.
