In Loving Memory

Cheri A. (Verdine) Gideons

July 3, 1955 – September 17, 2020

Cheri Ann Verdine Gideons, 65 of Alvin, TX went home to be with her Lord and Savior on September 17, 2020.  She began her journey in Beaumont, TX on July 3, 1955 when she was born to Bobby Gene Verdine and Joan Ellen Mock.  She was preceded in death by both parents.

Cheri left many Treasures behind.  The Love of Her Life Patrick Gideons, Son, Kevin Verdine and wife, Delia of Sugar Land, TX, Brother, Ralph Verdine of Alvin, TX.  Four beautiful grandchildren – Madeline, Victoria, Vince, and Chance.  Two great grandchildren – Bellah and Jax and her niece, Verity.

She met and made friends with many from all over the country.  Anyone who knew Cheri knew she made you feel loved and welcomed from the minute she met you.  Cheri had great artistic abilities, which she showcased all around her home and let the world see what she saw through her art.  She had a great love for RVing and traveling all over the country attending many dog shows and different places with Pat, their fur babies, and special friends Bill and Jean Wallwin.

Cheri left us too soon, but we must not be sad because she is with our Lord. Because of the Hope that Jesus Christ gives to us we know that we will see her again.  She is now looking and protecting us from above and will always be our Guardian Angel as we travel through this life on earth.

Friends are cordially invited to attend a visitation with the family on Thursday, September 24, 2020 at 10:00 A.M., with the funeral service to begin at 11:00 A.M. at South Park Baptist Church, 1718 S. Johnson St, Alvin, Texas 77511 with Dr. Chad Bertrand officiating.  Interment will follow at Oak Park Cemetery in Alvin.

Condolences may be sent to the Gideons family in care of Jeter Memorial Funeral Home at www.jeterfuneralhome.com.

      1. Miss our friend so much but know she is watching over us as we travel this road called life. We will watch over Pat just like I promised you that night we sat outside by the fire.

You were a blessing to have as a friend. Always willing to listen and of course best of all, laugh.
Love to you above. Jean and Bill

  1. Such a Special Talented friend. You left some great memories. Will miss you and your Beautiful laugh and smile. Love you, Tina

  2. I met Cheri about 13 years ago. She came with Pat and their first Jack Russel to my Obedience class. As soon as I met Cheri and Pat and I took a liking to them and their JR Robert Earl. Pat trained and Cheri would always be there supporting them. After the classes were over I would go out and Talk to Cheri. She was always a joy to see and talk too. Pat would run the dogs in the agility field while we talked. Cheri was an angel on earth and now and angel in heaven. Cheri will be missed and never forgotten. God Bless this family

  3. I cannot even imagine going to the Texas Two Step and not seeing all of her crafty beautiful touches everywhere – even in the bathroom stalls! But even more I cannot imagine not seeing that gorgeous smile, the joy you could see on her face when her babies and Pat excelled as they did every year, and most of all I will miss that hug. Pat, we are all here for you, my friend.

  4. Cheri's passing has been such a shock to all that knew and loved her. Prayers of comfort to her husband Pat and the family. She will be missed.
