Amelia Chapa

January 31, 1928 – May 10, 2020

Amelia Chapa, age 92, passed away on Sunday, May 10, 2020 in Houston, Texas. She was born in Kingsville, TX in 1928 and lived/worked at the King Ranch until she was married to Ray Chapa in 1953.

Amelia started her career with Computer Science Services (Equifax) as a manager of computer training services. During her early years of employment, she traveled from East Coast to West Coast where she was able to visit family while traveling. She worked with the same company for 40 years. She was the most loving wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. Her family and friends meant everything to her, and she loved going to her grandchildren's sporting activities, and watching the Houston Astros. In her later years, she was able to travel the world with her male companion which brought her great joy.

She was preceded in death by her husband Ray Chapa, her sister and two brothers, and her parents.

 Left to carry on her memory is her daughter Norma Klouda, her son-in law Mark Klouda, her grandchildren Jenny Paynic, Ryan Long and their spouses, Joe Paynic and Olivia Long, great-grandchildren Gemma Paynic and Easton Long, step-grandchildren Scott Klouda, Katie (Klouda) Chamberlain, and her spouse Ryan Chamberlain, many nieces, nephews, God children, family and friends.

A memorial service will be held on Friday, May 15, 2020 at 10:00 A.M. at Jeter Memorial Funeral Home, 311 N. Friendswood Dr., Friendswood, Texas 77546 (281) 992-7200, with Deacon Bob Hebert officiating.  A graveside service will be held on Saturday, May 16, 2020 at 12:00 P.M. at Earthman Resthaven Cemetery, 13102 North Freeway, Houston, Texas 77060.

  2. Norma so glad that Mom And I crossed paths with you and your precious Mom at Baywood Crossing , she brought so much love , joy and laughter to both of us! May she rest in Gods loving arms ! My condolences to the Family !
