Al Blair, 76, of Friendswood, Tx passed away on Thursday, June 10, 2021. Al was born in Tonkawa, Ok to Archie and Bernice Blair on March 26, 1945. Al spent his childhood in New Kirk, Ok with his siblings Donald, Coleman, Delbert, Ruth, and Pam. Al later served in the Army with the 101st Airborne in Vietnam and 82nd Airborne in Dominican Republic, earning a Purple Heart for his service. After being discharged from the military, he attended Northern Oklahoma College earning an Associate’s Degree. While he was in college, he met and got married to Donna Bowden. Al and Donna later had two children, Bryan and Brandon Blair. Al worked for the Oklahoma Department of Corrections for 26 years and retired after serving as Assistant Warden. Before moving to Friendswood, Tx, he spent his days taking care of his small farm in Hominy, Ok. While living in Friendswood, he loved spending time his family, especially his granddaughter Addison and visits from his grandson Jeﬀery. Al lived a full life that constantly showed others how to be strong, courageous, and brave. He will be greatly missed by all those that knew him.
Al is survived by son Bryan Blair of Fairfax, Ok, son and daughter in law Brandon and Amanda Blair of League City, Tx, and grandchildren Jeﬀery Dilbeck and Addison Blair.
A graveside service will be held at the Tonkawa IOOF Cemetery in Tonkawa, Ok on Thursday, June 17th, 2021 at 2:00 P.M.
