In Loving Memory

Larry Wade Moore

8/7/1942 - 3/9/2018

Larry Wade Moore, 75 of Pearland, TX passed from this earth on Friday, March 9, 2018 surrounded by his loving family.

Larry will be remembered for his generous spirit, kind nature and enduring optimism.  His easy smile and thoughtful conversation made all who crossed his path feel special.  Larry was a true gentleman and a gentle man.

Larry was an only child, born August 7, 1942 to Prentice and Francis Moore. He earned a B.A. degree in Business Administration from University of Houston and began a career with Shell Oil Company, where the majority of his time was spent in Human Resources.  He retired to enjoy his time with his family, playing golf, fishing, volunteering and keeping up with the exploits of his 9 grandchildren.

Larry married Maylene Copeland on September 7, 1963.  For 54 years their marriage set a beautiful example that was deeply rooted in faith.  Larry gave his unconditional love, wisdom and support to their three children and nine grandchildren.  His family was his greatest source of pride.

After retirement, Larry and Maylene moved to Rockport, Texas where they spent 15 years enjoying the Texas Coast.  Graced with the heart and vision of a natural leader, Larry inherited a strong sense of civic responsibility and commitment to the community.  He spent numerous hour volunteering for organizations including Stephen Ministries and chairing the Good Samaritans of Rockport.  His faith led him to be active in many different areas of the Methodist Church.

Larry is survived by his wife, Maylene of Pearland, Texas;  son Jeffrey Moore and wife, Sabrina and their children, Alyssa, Juliana, Hannah and Matthew of Simpsonville, South Carolina; son Jason Moore and wife, Jennifer and their children, Sam and Charlie of Friendswood, Texas; daughter Jennifer Carson and husband Jay and their children, Max, Margie and Case of Van Alstyne, Texas.

Larry fought a courageous eight year battle with cancer and remained positive and optimistic throughout his journey.  The family would like to thank Dr. Arlene Stefker-Badtke and her staff at M.D. Anderson for all their skill, care and compassion.

A memorial service will be held on Monday, March 12, 2018 at 2:00 P.M. at the First United Methodist Church, 2314 Grand Blvd., Pearland, TX 77581 with Rev. Barbara Fyffe officiating.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to MD Anderson Cancer Center, Dr. Siefker Research Unit 1374, 1155 Pressler, Houston, Texas 77030.
