Rosie was born on October 2, 1932 in San Antonio, TX to Marguerite Neill and Joseph Terry. She met the love of her life, Max Newsom, at the age of 13, while in Junior High School. Rosie and Max attended Edison High School, and married on June 5, 1951. They moved to Albuquerque, NM in May of 1956, where they raised their four children and lived for forty years before retiring in the San Antonio area.

Rosie was an accomplished seamstress, artist and quilter. When she returned to Texas, she was a member of the Universal Quilters Guild in Universal City, and was the Social Chairman at Scenic Hills in Schertz, TX for several terms.  Throughout her life Rosie was involved in her children’s many activities including the Coronado Club Swim Team Boosters, and the Manzano High School Booster Club. She also served on the board of the New Mexico Young American Football League for a number of years, and was always her children's greatest cheerleader. She loved to sew, paint, garden and travel.
