Kitty Lee Myers Haner

In Loving Memory

Kitty Lee Myers Haner

10/27/1919 - 4/11/2018

On April 11, 2018, Jesus received an angel as Kitty Lee Haner passed from this world.  Our family has lost a beautiful, strong, and wise matriarch.  We will cherish the memories of her and are thankful for the wisdom she imparted to each of us.

Kitty was born October 27, 1919 in San Antonio, TX to William P. Myers and Mary Lee Whellis Myers.  She was preceded in death by her husband of 52 years, Lt. Col. William “Bill” Haner USAF (ret) and a son, Kerry N. Haner.  Bill and Kitty were married in Houston and had two other sons, Michael Haner (Sharold) of Victoria, TX and William Haner (Diane) of New Orleans, LA.  The couple was blessed with six grandchildren David Haner (Laura) of Bacliff, TX, Christopher C. Haner and Adrieanne M. Bird of New Orleans, LA, Kerry A. Haner of Pasadena, TX, Mark Haner (Leighann) of Altamonte Springs, FL and Erik Haner (Audrey) of Corpus Christi, TX.  Her great-grandchildren include, Kiel, Michael, Bryce, Chandler, Cole, Wyatt, Michie’, and Ethan.

This strong military wife ran her home with Air Force precision earning her the nick name “Col. Kitty”.  There wasn’t much that slipped by this 5ft. “bombshell”, yet she was so soft and gentle when you needed her.  Her large, generous heart and love of God led her to many altruistic endeavors.  She was a strong supporter of her grandchildren, making available opportunities for them to succeed.  Kitty was very active in her community of Friendswood as well as the Officers Wives Club at Ellington AFB.

Grace Episcopal Church in Alvin, TX was her home church where she will be memorialized on Monday, April 16, 2018 at 2:00 P.M.  Interment to follow at Friends Church Cemetery in Friendswood, TX at a later date.

Condolences may be sent to the Haner family in care of Jeter Memorial Funeral Home at www.jeterfuneralhome.com.
