Helen Lavonne (Molen) Baughman

Helen Lavonne Molen Baughman, 79, of Pearland, Texas passed away on Wednesday, March 21, 2018.  She was born on August 4, 1938 to Bennie Molen and Freida Schwarz Molen in Houston, Texas.  Helen graduated from Milby High School in 1956 with honors.  Helen worked in the Gas Liquids group at Shell Oil Company in downtown Houston for 35 years and retired in 1996.  She attended Providential Baptist Church in Pearland.  Helen loved working in her yard, raising her dogs and being with her family. She always had a good time with whatever she was doing.  She always had a funny story to share and such a great sense of humor. Helen was also affectionately known as “Sweet Darlin” to her oldest grandson Chris when he was a child, known as “Kid” to her younger grandchildren and great grandchildren and as “Sis” to her brothers and sisters.  She was a loving and doting mother, grandmother, great grandmother and sister.  She spent most weekends with her great grandson Donald.  She supported all of her grandchildren and great grandchildren with their school activities.  Her family meant the world to her.  Helen will be dearly missed, remembered, loved and cherished in many hearts forever.

Helen was preceded in death by her husband, Donald Baughman of 49 years; parents Bennie and Freida Molen; stepmother Deady Molen; and brother Jim Molen.

She is survived by her daughter Cindy Massey and husband Jimi of Pearland, Texas; grandchildren Chris Baughman, Joshua Massey and Caitlyn Massey of Pearland, Texas; great grandchildren Brieann and Donald Baughman of Pearland, Texas; sisters Barbara Baughman of Willis, Texas, Cheryl Kokosz and husband Mike of Pearland, Texas, and Debra Molen of Houston, Texas; brothers Edward Molen and wife Sue of Midwest City, Oklahoma, Bennie Molen and wife Pam of Pasadena, Texas and step-brother Andy Brame of Pearland, Texas.

A memorial service will be held at 2:00 P.M. on Saturday, March 31, 2018 at Providential Baptist Church, 4248 Veterans Drive, Pearland, TX 77584 (832) 637-4480, with Rev. Mike Hogg officiating.
