Kenneth Wesley Blankenship

Kenneth Wesley Blankenship, 76, of Rosharon, TX, passed away on Wednesday, February 21, 2018.  Kenneth was born January 16, 1942, in Steubenville, Ohio, to parents Howard Wesley and Sadie Irene Blankenship.

Kenneth was a hard worker who provided unselfishly for his family.  He enjoyed fishing with his son and watching football with his family. He was especially proud of his daughter's work, rescuing homeless animals.  His dogs at home will miss sitting on his lap outside on the patio. 

He was preceded in death by his parents, Howard and Sadie Blankenship, brother Wasel Wayne Blankenship, and sister Donna Irene Chapman.

Survivors include his wife of 54 years, Margaret Blankenship; his children, son Kenneth Todd Blankenship (Edythe) and daughter Christina Blankenship Jenkins; grandchildren, Sadie Lynn Jenkins, Kristina Cunningham (Christian) and Ted Cashion, III; and great-grandchild Ewan Kenneth Cunningham.  He is also survived by his brothers, Howard Eugene, Milton Earl and Philip Blankenship, sister Wanda Showalter, and numerous nieces and nephews.

A short service will take place at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church, 7250 Harrisburg, Houston, TX 77011, at 10:00 A.M., on Tuesday, February 27, 2018, followed by a private graveside service at 11:00 AM. at Forest Park Lawndale, 6900 Lawndale St., Houston, TX 77023, with Rev. Desmond Daniels officiating.

In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made in Kenneth’s name to his favorite charities, St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital at www.stjude.org or your local animal shelter or animal rescue group.

Aunt Margaret, Todd and Missy, I have such fond, fun and loving memories of the summer I stayed with you. You were such a close family and Uncle Kenny adored you all so and I sure adored him. He was loved much and certainly will be missed. Love to you all, Brenda
