Condolences to Annette and the entire family. I am so sorry for your loss. One of the greatest memories I have is of a visit to my grandmother’s (Granny Ethel) sister’s (Alvera) home in the 1960’s. Alvera offered to pay Jerry to wash dishes, and there were lot. He didn’t hesitate for a minute. He said if there’s something you don’t like to do, but need to do, just get in there and get it done. What a great example he set! My sister, Beverly, and I remember it to this day.

I will always remember Jerry as genuine. He was a straight shooter and was not afraid to tell you what was on his mind. I liked that quality. One did not have to guess or ponder. I liked it that when he was upset he would say what he needed and then it was over. When asked about how his family was, He filled with joy, He loved his wife and his children. He thought highly of them all. He loved his brothers and sisters and genuinely wanted them to know the Lord and to know what the Bible says. He wanted everyone to know God and go to Heaven. I lost a brother last year and have one struggling now with this dreadful cancer disease. This disease is not pretty and neither are the treatments. I knew I was not going to be able to make it to the visitation or funeral. I wanted to send out my very sincere and heartfelt prayers to you all. What a tremendous loss to the family and Jerry will be missed by all. May God Bless You and Keep you and comfort you through this hurtful and painful time. Your sister in Christ, Johanna

Bob Jr. said it well and Eugene said it best, I remember his old clunkers but they served their purpose.
