Maureen Lucey Cassidy-Gonzales, 78, of Friendswood, TX passed away on May 11, 2017 at home with family by her side.  She was the wife of Rodolfo V. Gonzales, Jr; they shared 22 loving years together.

She was born on July 4, 1938 in Brooklyn, NY; she was the daughter of John Joseph Lucey and Anastasia Murphy Lucey.  She graduated from Alvin Community College and worked as a Registered Nurse for 40 years.

Maureen enjoyed life and family.  She will be remembered for her kindness, generosity, passion and many accomplishments.  She was adored and appreciated by her family across generations.

She is survived by her husband Rodolfo; children, Denise Johnson and her husband Melvin Johnson of Bastrop, TX, Bruce Ure and his wife Valarie Ure of Austin, TX, John Ure and his wife Bernadeth Ure of Friendswood, TX and Jonathon Cassidy and his wife Brooke Cassidy of Kingwood, TX; grandchildren, Paul Foster and his wife Patsy Foster of Friendswood, TX, Steph Burton and her husband P.J. Burton of Greer, SC, and Taylor Ure of Missouri City, TX; great-grandchildren, Zachary Foster, son of Paul, Kaitlin and Collin Cassidy, daughter and son of Jonathon and Caleb Burton, son of Steph; and many other relatives and cherished friends.

Friends are cordially invited to the visitation with the family on Saturday, May 20, 2017 at 8:00 A.M. with a memorial service to follow at 9:00 A.M. at the Jeter Memorial Funeral Home Chapel, 311 N. Friendswood Dr., Friendswood, TX 77546 with Rev. James H. Kuczynski, M. S. officiating.

In lieu of flowers, the family wishes to request donations in Maureen’s memory to CHERUBS, 3650 Rogers Rd. #290, Wake Forest, NC 27587.

Maureen was truly a blessing to each and every person she met. I will always remember her beautiful sense of humor as well as her straight forward approach to life. Prayers for the family, friends and acquaintances, as I know there are far too many to count. Peace be with you Rudy.
