9/27/1926 - 4/30/2017

Ethel M Dawson, 90, of Alvin, Texas, passed away peacefully Sunday, April 30th, 2017 while holding the hands of her girls and Amber who prayed until she took her last breath. Joyfully going to be with her almighty God. She flitted like a butterfly to heaven joining her husband of 70 years, Bert H Dawson for his 95th birthday party, how exciting for them. Ethel M (Mhore) Dawson was born September 27, 1926 in Kansas City, Missouri. Ethel moved with her family to Alvin, Texas in 1969. Ethel loved dancing, singing, drawing and painting, playing bingo at the Senior Center and Karaoke.  She had a passion for teaching first grade Sunday School and Vacation Bible School at Heights Baptist Church for over 40 years. Ethel was the definition of pure joy and happiness as she inspired everyone she met.

Ethel is survived by daughters, Deborah Legett and husband, Jon, Diane Boff and husband, Randy, Denise Dawson, and Darla Bower and husband, Troy; 7 grandchildren; 7 great grandchildren; many other relatives and friends.

Friends are cordially invited to attend a visitation with the family from 10:00 A.M. to 11:00 A.M. on Saturday, May 6, 2017 at Heights Baptist Church, 1951 County Road 144, Alvin, Texas 77511, with a memorial service following at 11:00 A.M.  Family asks for donations to be made in her memory to Alvin Meals on Wheels, Actions Senior Center or the St. Judeโ€™s foundation.
